Sometime back in the 90′s, I can recall a much younger me, borrowing my step-father’s computer so that I could explore the world wide web. I recall having personal Geocities webpages and building fan pages for Tori Amos–someone I could identify with for being “different,” whatever that meant. It’s both of these which first sparked my obsession with the technology and the Internet in support social good.
I soon taught myself HTML, PHP, javascript, and more, and would find joy in the creation of a beautiful website having in written the entire code by hand in text files. The geek in me was born. Although the capability to write code gave me my first understandings of the possibilities of websites, it was my creative ambition that drove me to build the best of websites, that engaged and built better relationships.
While I now find myself working for a great company providing these very services to nonprofits, I also find the desire for a less-serious side project. Enter: this website. I cannot promise to update often, or that it may even be thought meaningful, but I will make an effort to share posts to other sites and blogs, and even give a “photo-a-day” post a shot. The content on this website is mostly personal and nothing said reflects the opinions of my employers. /end smallprint
In all seriousness, these pages are just for fun. Enjoy, share back, engage…
