About
Chris Tuttle
Born in Heidelberg, Germany and raised in small-town Irmo, South Carolina, Chris Tuttle accumulated almost 5 years experience working in community theatre. Though he does nothing with that experience now, he is thrilled to be web designing for the theatrically savvy Spin Cycle.
Over the years, Chris Tuttle has hosted shows in the south for drag performers Samantha Hunter and The Lady Chablis, was once a youth columnist for the Baltimore Gay Paper (BGP) and wrote a My Perspective column for The Advocate in September 1999. With his work at GLSEN Chris Tuttle developed the sponsorship of the Day of Silence–creating the largest ever national student-led campaign on LGBT issues in schools with nearly a half-million students taking part from over 5,000 schools across the US–and has worked to support the organizing efforts of thousands of students across the country in creating safer schools for all.
Today, in addition to running his own web design company, Chris Tuttle works as the Information & Technology Manager at GLSEN (www.glsen.org) and supports his awesome partner Joe Kovacs (www.joekovacs.com) career as a puppeteer with Madame and Miss Greta Green.
Chris Tuttle also has little time to update this profile and will get to it soon. As a start, I’m gonna try to do one of those “100 things about Chris Tuttle” lists that everyone seems to love, or hate, depending on who you are. When did you write this? I bet it was more than a week ago… and you have not added 10 more…
Hey Chris. Derrick (Marc’s boyfriend) here. I saw you on MySpace from Lisa’s page. What a great website! It’s nice to sneak into the world of someone else every once in awhile.
Ho-hum. To be or not to be “The” Chris Tuttle-one is left to wonder. Stories sound familiar, from those told over forties at the Sawlty Dawg…. and other bits of info remain questionable, as do most parts of my life. Just checkin’ in on this “world-wide web” to see where in the world you are. Am I stalking you? Its quite possible I suppose. Theres not enough material for a story though, so I’ll meander onto my next victim. Tah-tah!
very good, I liked it

uh nice blog! I’m a geeek too
did you ever live in Herndon, VA?
Dear Chris,
I was looking online for some GSA data since I’m the sponsor for the first ever GSA at your alma mater, IHS, and I came across a piece you’d written for the Advocate, about being 16 and sitting in your American History class. It was very moving, and at that moment, I knew that any grief I’ve been through and will go through for this club is all worth it. Also, your music is beautiful. I thank you for your work for the GLBT community. I recognized your name when I saw it, so I’m wondering if I ever taught you Spanish? After so many students, it’s hard to keep track. At any rate, you should check out the State Newspaper (thestate.com) to read about the meltdown. It’s so sad how so many “good Christians” can be so hateful and so clueless. Write back if you will. If you ever get back to Columbia, I’d love to have you come to the club as a guest speaker.
