2008 Objectives March 31, 2008

OK, so we’re already 3 months into 2008, but whatever.

I was blading yesterday with Chris Church (totally fur-roche! [How is that spelled?]) and we say the dinner cruise boats and I thought to myself… I wanna do that! And it reminded me, yet again, of all those things I see or think about and don’t get around to ever doing. So, I’m making a list. I’d like to aim to do most of these THIS year… and this is going to be a long list that I’m just now STARTING, so bare with me… but we’ll try.

Ohh, and your job? Suggestions! I always love hearing suggestions from other folks…

1) Blade - It’s my goal to blade at least once a week all summer, starting yesterday.

2) Gym - I’ve got to get to the gym at least 3 days a week, period.

3) Veg - Thought I can’t go back completely veggie, I do want to stop eating as much Chicken as I have been, and aim to eat organic chicken if eating it. I always felt healthier and looked better when I was a full on vegetarian.
4) Dinner Cruise - I want to go on a dinner cruise.

5) Ice Skating - at least once… considering renting out a rink for a few hours and getting a group to go.

6) Skiing - Can’t until later in the year, but want to join the Ski Bums group and go on skiing day-trips.

7) Underground - I can’t remember the name of it, but there’s this really cool underground Saki bar that I went to years ago and loved. It’s expensive as hell, but worth the experience.

8) Boating in Central Park - Every year I try talking Joe into this and every year we don’t get around to it. This summer I’m going. Period.

9) Governor’s Island - I missed the chance to visit last year and am fascinated by this Island’s history. Considering the delayed development of Gov’s Island I’m crossing fingers that they’ll allow visitors soon again.

10) Lunch in the park - I work 1 block from Battery Park, overlooking the statue of liberty. This will be my third summer working here and I’ve yet to have lunch in the park. This year, that will change.

11) Horse Back riding - Central Park’s original horses are now gone, but there is a Bronx company that allows lessons & rentals in the park on certain dates. I’d LOVE to do that this year, as I LOVE riding horses and haven’t been in years.

12) Upstate B&B - I want to return to the B&B upstate New York and enjoy a few days with no cell phone, no laptop, no email, no news, no nothing.

13) Golfing @ Chelsea Piers… I’m not the best golfer, but I do love hitting the balls and Chelsea Piers has a great space, albeit pricey.

Ok, so that’s the short list for now… there’s plenty more I’ll be adding, but gotta start somewhere.

What do you think? These were some bigger things I’ve wanted to do… but do you have any NYC musts?
