Life’s A Drag January 17, 2006
Posted by *christuttle* in : tuttle says... , trackbackFor some reason, this post got marked private back on Dec 21st when originally posted… as such, I’m not sure who saw it–besides Doug, who commented. So, I’m re-posting, in hopes that you’ll love as much as I do.
I love Evie Harris, among many other drag queens women you’ve seen me write about, like here, here, here here, and here. I know, not too much.

Anyway… whether it’s Jackie Beat making me laugh so hard I spit up my drink, Trai La Trash slipping me roofies at Splash, Edie plying me with alcohol so that she can try taking me home, Sherry Vine dancing it out all hours of night, or Peppermint being the sweetest damn kitten in the whole damn world… I love drag. I always have actually. It’s the illusion, the show, the experience getting to be someone you’re not. It’s acting. And though I never took on–nor want to–a life in theatre, it’s damn fun doing it for just one night.

Evie Harris, Varla Jean Merman and Coco Peru are three of those performers I would LOVE to see perform in person…. not to mention hang out with for a night on the town. Although, a friend recently told me the last few events they’ve met and spoken 1on1 with Varla Jean at that she wasn’t much of a talker and kinda a bore. Something I honestly have a hard time believing, but then again, so did my friend. Varla Jean… tell me it ain’t so! Tell me you’re just as whacky as you were in Girls Will Be Girls!?!?
Ohh well. Until then, I’ll admire Evie Harris from afar. Thanks to Shoot From The Hip for leading us all to these:

I don’t recall seeing any pics of you in drag.
